Weddings

It is one of the greatest joys of my rabbinate to serve as an officiant at the union of two beloveds. I have been deeply fortunate to accompany some incredible couples on their journey to the chuppah and see that journey as an essential piece of the wedding day itself. I am honored to work with couples of all backgrounds in the months leading up to their wedding day and beyond it; my goal is to be a lifelong presence and guide as you navigate the beautiful and complex realities of marriage and family life.

If you'd like detailed information on how I do weddings, what my preparation process looks like, or if you're interested in talking with couples with whom I've worked, please reach out at your earliest convenience.

Testimonials

"We could not possibly have been happier with our experience under the chuppah with Rabbi Cohen. Our guests were quite blown away with the ceremony - we thought it was amazing how well she connected with the crowd!"
-Sylvie and Adam

"We could not have asked for a better rabbi to officiate our wedding. Even from our first meetings together, it was clear Rabbi Jaclyn was a different kind of rabbi. She instantly “got” us. She knew exactly what types of questions to ask to learn about who we were as a couple, and what was important to us. In preparation for the ceremony, she had a general outline prepared, but left lots of room for our interpretation. She kept us on track with frequent check-ins but never felt pushy or imposing. We left every meeting smiling, and excited to work on the next stage of planning. Our ceremony was even more beautiful than we could have imagined: heartfelt, powerful, a mix of old and new traditions, and most importantly, true to us. And her voice is gorgeous! We had multiple friends and family members stop us after the ceremony to ask ‘where did you find your rabbi?! She was amazing!’ We were both proud and comforted to stand under the chuppah with Rabbi Jaclyn. She has a wonderful presence that everyone at our wedding was moved by. It was a perfect way to start our lives together."

"Simply put, Rabbi Cohen made our wedding day beautiful. When we look back on that day, her words to us under the chuppah remain most salient in our hearts and minds. Both solemn and celebratory, meaningful and lighthearted, intimate and accessible, the ceremony she performed was everything we hoped for. She conveyed our story with depth, feeling, and humor, allowing our guests to fully share in our joy. She provided context for Jewish traditions and rituals unfamiliar to half the audience, warmly including everyone in the experience. She made us laugh and reflect at all the right moments, adeptly and seamlessly mixing levity and formality. Finally, her stunning singing voice, use of inclusive language, top-notch public speaking skills, and warm presence all came together to create one of the most transformative hours of our lives to date. She was truly wonderful, and we cannot recommend her highly enough."

"We loved working with Rabbi Cohen. During the planning phase she made it clear how the most important aspect of the wedding was that we were happy and comfortable with what was going to take place. I come from a much less Jewish background than my wife, so Rabbi Cohen's approachable style of communication and education on Jewish customs was fantastic. When we would be planning a particular aspect she would often provide us with a breakdown of how each denomination of Judaism (Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, etc.) would do it. This made the whole process much more accommodating and not at all a rigid process of sequential "you must do this at a Jewish wedding" commands. She performed our ceremony beautifully, sprinkling it with a fantastic balance of humor, sincerity and solemnity, not to mention she's really good at singing. A large proportion of the attendees on my side are not Jewish, and I received great feedback from them on how much they enjoyed the inclusive and accessible ceremony. No one felt alienated - plus I had more than one guest tell me, "I wish we could've done some Jewish stuff at our wedding - it's so fun!!"

"We were worried about someone we didn't know marrying us and telling our story. Someone ended up referring us to Rabbi Cohen because she was willing to officiate an interfaith marriage - we'd heard nice things about her, but we were skeptical. We went into the process with the idea that we only wanted her to run through the Jewish traditions without talking about us personally. We met twice with her in person, and twice over Facetime. She was warm, progressive, and exactly what we could have ever wished for in an officiant. My fiance's parents were a bit nervous about having a religious figure marry us (from a religion they knew very little about) but they were blown away with how inclusive she was. They still talk about what an incredible job she did and how welcome she made them feel. She has a beautiful voice, and took the important pieces of our story to share during our ceremony. Since our wedding, family friends continue to rave about "the rabbi" and Jewish and non-Jewish friends have all commented on how it was the most beautiful, warm ceremony they had ever been to. We could not be more grateful to Rabbi Cohen - she turned a somewhat anxiety-provoking situation into a stress-free, relaxed and truly special day. We would recommend her a million times over, she literally MADE our wedding day!"
